Values: Citizenship and commitment reflected in Christmas storm and sunshine. In this essay I am going to talk about a story called Christmas storms and sunshine, this is a story written by Elisabeth Gaskell, I am going to tell and explain how the values of commitment and citizenship are reflected in this story. It is important to say that this story talks about two families that didn’t really like themselves because they were both owner of a newspaper one called the tori and the other one called the examinator. But the real problem of the story was that the Wifes hated each other not all the family. The families were called the jerkins and the hodgsons. The conflict is triggered by a minor incident involving Ms. Jenkins' cat, who later denies her help to Mrs. Hodgson in the face of the sudden and dangerous illness of her young son.
